1. Imperial War Museum Duxford  

With plenty to see and do for families with children of all ages, IWM Duxford offers a full day out taking you through an unforgettable journey through times of war and peace. The museum hosts summer holiday activities for you and your kids to get stuck into in addition to exploring its award winning exhibitions.

2. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Situated within a fully operational Naval Base, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is home to a collection of amazing attractions making it a great day out. Taking you on a journey through time, the dockyard allows you to step onboard historic ships and learn more about the Royal Navy past, present and future.

3. RAF Museum London & Cosford

With its purpose to educate the story of the Royal Air Force, the official RAF museum is Britain’s only national museum dedicated wholly to aviation. Spanning across two separate locations, the museums offer a plethora of iconic and historic aircraft with special exhibitions and activities on a daily basis. 

4. The Tank Museum - Bovington, Dorset   

Regarded as the world’s best collection of tanks, the tank museum tells the story of armoured warfare from World War I to the present day offering six exhibition spaces filled with over 300 vehicles. The museum also features the Kuwait Arena which is home to its Tanks in Action Displays that take place at 13:00 every weekday during the school holidays.

5. Tank Driving Experience - Lutterworth, Leicestershire 

If museums aren’t your thing why not experience the full capabilities of a true military beast with this tank driving experience in Leicestershire. With a minimum age of 16 allowed to take the reins, this driving experience can be enjoyed by those as young as 8 whilst they ride as passengers. After getting acquainted with the tank controls, take over and take it for three laps of the specially-designed course.
